“Extremes are a razzle-dazzle, Gloria Steinem-meets-The Supremes show. They entertain, educate, and best of all, make us laugh.” Beth Seiser , Cape Cod Voice, 6/16/04
“The Extremes are not afraid to show a little skin and a lot of chutzpah pushing the envelope for themselves and their audiences.” Candy Hammond, Cape Cod Times, 4/7/07
To book shows and workshops with the Extremes... call Joanne at 774.229.6194.THE EXTREMES founded in 2000 by a collective of dance artists, blend music, theater, dance, and the art of storytelling. The company of 7 dancers and actors, under the direction of Joanne Callum Powers, write, choreograph, and perform their own work. Running the gamut from Mozart to BB King, they tell the stories they need to tell: about women, their roles, responsibilities, and the relationships that shape their lives. For good measure, they throw in a politically correct cowgirl piece. Click here to read their Bios...
"It’s A War Out There" (2009): Written by six daughters telling their story of growing up with Dad in the wake of WWII. With the war over, dad became a “warrior without a war.” He traded his rifle for a brief case and the battle at home was waged. Dad taught us that life is short, life is tough, don’t forget to smile, look ‘em in eye, wash your hands before dinner, and don’t forget…”It’s A War Out There.”
“You may laugh a bit, cry a bit and relate to the nostalgia of the times, but you will leave with a clear understanding that nothing good ever comes from war.” L. Kanzer
"To Reveal" (2004): Beauty is skin deep. Can we dig deep enough to Reveal it?
