THE EXTREMES founded in 2000 by a collective of dance artists, blend music, theater, dance, and the art of storytelling. The company of 7 dancers and actors, under the direction of Joanne Callum Powers, write, choreograph, and perform their own work. Running the gamut from Mozart to BB King, they tell the stories they need to tell: about women, their roles, responsibilities, and the relationships that shape their lives. "It’s A War Out There" (2009): Written by six daughters telling their story of growing up with Dad in the wake of WWII. With the war over, dad became a “warrior without a war.” He traded his rifle for a brief case and the battle at home was waged. Dad taught us that life is short, life is tough, don’t forget to smile, look ‘em in eye, wash your hands before dinner, and don’t forget…”It’s A War Out There.”
